Penobscot

The Penobscot are a Wabanaki people whose home has always been the Penobscot River valley in present-day Maine. Like their Passamaquoddy neighbours, they tell many stories of Glooskap.

Today about 2,400 Penobscot citizens are enrolled in the Nation, whose home is Indian Island, in the Penobscot River in Maine (2020 tribal census).
