Tlingit

The Tlingit live along the coast, islands and rivers of Southeast Alaska and inland into the Yukon and northern British Columbia, a land of forest, water and long winters. Their stories often explain the marks and habits of the animals around them.

Today more than twenty-two thousand Tlingit live in the United States, most of them in Alaska (2020 census), and about two thousand more in the Yukon and northern British Columbia.
